Santa Visit

Kalena and Lilly went to visit Santa today. They had a great time playing together from their strollers during the two hour wait. But the very cute pictures they made are well worth it

Dec. 18th 2008

Wow!! Today we caught Kalena free standing all by herself.. I was putting some stuff away in her room and Todd said "LOOK!!" I turned around she had pulled herself up and was standing there.. She lasted a good 8 seconds before sitting back down.. I don't know if these means much in the form of walking, but it does mean she's not our itty bitty baby anymore..

Kalena's 10 Month Update

Kalena is no longer doing the military crawl she has learned to pick her belly up!! Finally!!

She loves to do "Fish Face" (sucking in her checks)

Kalena is loving the new stage toys she has been given from her friends and family.

She is very into snickering, laughing, and still blowing her raspberry's..

She enjoys to eat any kind of cracker she can get her hands on.. she also eats green beans, tofu, potatoes, etc....

Nine Month Update

Kalena is growing, growing, growing

She is now 19pounds 8 ounces... she is 28 1/2 inches long.. and her head 17 1/4 inches around..

Kalena crawls all around the house and pulls herself up on anything she can.
Kalena is very attracted to I-phones, cords, remotes, and just about anything she's not supposed to play with.

Every mourning is standing in her crib ready to play..

Kalena had a blast being the cutest giraffe for Halloween.

Pumpkin Patch

Mommy loves pumpkins because Kalena's looks cute surrounded by them.
Daddy loves pumpkins because they look funny.
Kalena hates pumpkins because she doesn't think they make her look cute or funny.

Since Kalena's last update.. hum... She has learned how to open drawers.. She gets excited now when she watches Baby Eistein videos... She loves to eat squash..

So Much News I can't wait til the 28th

So Much News I can't wait til the 28th for Kalena's 8 month update to share everything she is doing now. Kalena has come along so fast this past month:
-SAYS DADA and babbles alot
-She does the "military" crawl
-Sitting up without support
-Feeds herself her own snacks
-Picks up and plays with her toys
-Notices when her friends take her toys
-Stands while holding onto something or mostly someone

Sept. 14th the family went down to the "downtown" library. This was a first for Kalena and I, even at 7.5 months Kalena enjoyed the childrens area. We have a dvd a hold for her that she should enjoy and Todd and I checked out a couple items.

7 Month Update - August 28th

Kalena is now 28.5 inches & 17 lbs. She likes pears, carrots, green beans, oatmeal, tofu, and not so much peas. She enjoys light white whines, bounc-a-rooing, and short scoots on the beach. People (and objects) are attracted to her. She is particular about her "all organic" foods and has a new comfy car seat for when she wants to be chauffeured around town.

Kalena is up to 17 pounds now!! She is trying to crawl.. before I got the camera out she was doing so good.. But, as usually once the camera came out she got shy.. Here she is slowy rolling around and being camera shy.. super cute.. 9/20/2008

Semi-Annual Birthday!

Kalena just had her semi-annual birthday on Monday July 28th.

Todd and I took her to have her first set of "professional" pictures done, she did pretty good overall. We got some great pictures.

She is completely turning over and trying to figure out the crawling bit. She finally doesn't mind laying on her tummy.

At Kalena's 6 month check up:
Weight- 15 pounds 4.5 ounces {45%}
Height- 26.5 inches {75%}
Head Circ- 16.75inches {50%}

Kalena is eating avocado, sweet potatoes, bananas, and rice cereal. Next week I'll be added some more fun food!!!

Big Stuff This Week

On July 3rd Kalena got to spend the weekend with her Aunt Danyen and Uncle Donny. This was not Kalena's first night away from home, but it was her first time away for multiple days. During Kalena's stay she also got to spend a day with Grandma Cheryl!! When I dropped KJ off on my way to Myrtle Beach for my first baby-free vaca with Cyndi KJ had a small bump on her face, little did I know it was the beginning of a bacterial skin infection. Danyen and Donny where troopers when the infection spread on KJ face! I was so impressed with them! High five!!!

When we got back to Orlando I took KJ to the doctor and they gave her first antibiotics. They also said it was time to start KJ on baby cereal. So on July 8th KJ had her first "solid" food. Today, July 10th Kalena started to realize that you eat baby cereal and showed interest for more. Within the weeks to come she wil be introduced to bananas, sweet potatoes, and avocados.

Weight as of July 8th: 14 pound 7 ounces

What happens when Dads dress babies!

Todd got Kalena a black onesie with AC/DC with a craddle rocking thats says.. "For Those About To Rock"

I told him she can't wear the onesie alone, so I made her a black tutu to go with it and a skull and crossbone headband.

5 month update

Kalena is putting everything in her mouth, sometimes even two hands! Wow!
She is loving her exersaucer and jumperoo!!
She likes hanging on my desk in her bumbo seat.
She's been riding in the stroller without her car seat.
She still is making funny sounds with her mouth.
She is picking up stuff..
And she is slowly noticing what "food" is.

She was just talking to Grandma Cheryl over the phone.. We miss you! (the video didn't record when I thought.. I guess thats what happens you multi task)

Father's Day

This was Todd's first father's day. Kalena and Todd had such a great time together. Kalena even did a complete roll over for him!! Todd has been teaching her to take baby steps, too. (I guess he wants her to skip over the crawling stage...)

Kalena arrived home the other day to a huge box that was shipped to her from her grandma Cheryl. The box contained the most adorable clothes and lots of them. Some of the clothes she can wear now and some are for she gets alittle bigger. Kalena and I THANK YOU so much!!!

Kalena is Four Months Today

Somehow its been four months since our baby love joined us. She is so great!

Today at her 4 month appointment we learned that she:
Weight: 12 pounds 6 ounces
Height: 25 inches
Head Circ: 15 7/8

Kalena is standing up with help, as we say "weeble wobble' weeble wobble"
With Dads training Kalena is holding her own bottle
She is sleeping 10-12 hours a night
She is now eating only formula
Smiles and laughs fill our evenings

May 13th
Kalena and her friends got to go Islands of Adventure for the first time.
They might have been too small to ride any rides, but they had a blast anyhow.
Us loving parents rode the coasters for them.

Grandpa John

Kalena loved having her grandpa John at her birth and the following day. She loved seeing him during bike week. Kalena will always remember and love her grandpa. He was so happy to meet her and his love will always be with her.

3 Month Update

Kalena is getting big fast!
She is about 12 pounds and is 24 inches long.
She is an evening smiling girl.
She likes sleeping in, like her mom! She gets atleast 8-12 hours every night.
She loves being outside and going to restaurants. The noise seems to claim her.
She is vocalizing her sounds trying to talk to us.
She has lost her hair on the sides, but her mohawk is still going strong.

Kalena's First Beach Visit

Everyone wondered if she'd be a beach bum or if she'd hate the sand like her mom did. But, it seems she is a true beach bum. Must be beacuse her mom has learned to love the beach again and can't wait to build sand castles with her.

11 Week Update

Wow!! sorry for the delay in updates.. Time flys with a cute baby around.

Kalena's 2 month check up went great. She's right on track.

Weight: 11pounds 2ounces
Height: 23 inches

{I'm sure she's much bigger than that now.}

She has been giving the BIGGEST SMILES!! They are so fantastic to see when she gives them.
She follows the sound of my voice.
She gets startled at loud and/or unexpected noises. (her face is so cute when this happens)
She is cooing at Todd and I, its so fun to finally talk with our baby.
