Tampa Zoo Dec. 10th

1. Pony ride - she was all about the ponies but still didn't want to ride
2. Feed the Giraffe's, so much fun
3. Looked at the zebras
4. Ate a cupcake
5. Feed some birds, they were everywhere

November Update

November 6th: Volusia County Fair

Kalena was tall enough this year to go on almost all the kiddy rides at the Volusia County Fair. Marli, Colin and Kalena had a ball riding on the tea cups, little train, banana ride, jumping in the bounce house. They also enjoyed looking at all the farm animals. Kalena walked down the isle pointing at them it was so cute. She got to pet a bunny, goats and sheep.

November 7th: 1st Pony Ride

Kalena and mommy drove out to Yalaha to meet up with Jaxson and Sabrina for yummy German Food and the kids first pony rides. However, Kalena decided she did not want to ride. Jaxson went 4 times! Kalena did enjoy petting the ponies and then they let her feed the ponies. She really enjoyed herself. I think she'll ride next time.

November Update:

Kalena now likes to pick out her clothes and socks. She is finally letting mommy put her hair up. She loves hair bows. She is saying her colors. She loves pink and purple!!
She is getting closer to being potty trained. She changes her own pull ups, however we are trying to teach her only changes pee pull ups is okay.
She has new love for horses. She loves ruff ruffs and meow meows (her words not mine). She loves to take Rusty (Mimi's dog) on walks and enjoying napping with him.
She enjoys dancing and tumbling.
And she likes going to gymnastics and each time we go she does something new, last week she fly like tinker bell and did a flip over the bar. And she was complimented on tucking her head while doing somersaults.

Stone Mountain, GA

1st Trip for Kalena out of Florida!!!!!!

We took a family vacation to Stone Mountain, GA. The weather was beautiful up there this October. Kalena did much better than I expected on the car ride up to Atlanta. One the first night of our trip with stayed at the Ritz in Buckhead with Todd's incredible discount. Kalena's first night away was hard, but we all made it.
The next day we found a amazing park on the river for Kalena to play located in Roswell and then we went to Stone Mountain. Kalena had a few melt downs around her nap time. But when she was happy she was the cutest girl. We had a blast running in the halls and jumping on the bed. Saturday we enjoyed the festivities of the park. Kalena had her face painted. Todd, Joel and Marie where very impressed with how still Kalena sat while she got her face painted. Big shocker that she picked out the unicorn, NOT! We took a ride on the railroad around the park and enjoyed kettle corn. Kalena and daddy did a ropes course and we ended the night with the laser light show on the mountain.

Face Painting

The very first time I tired to get Kalena's face painted she screamed and would not allow it. But then the second time when I thought we were just going to watch Marli, Kalena climbed into the chair and sat still with her eyes closed until her face had a fish on it. She ran around with puckered lips for ten minutes because she didn't want them messed up.
This week was we got her face painted again, she loved having it done and looking in the mirror. This time she picked out the unicorn.

KJ Update

She is doing great!
We have been enjoying Sea World and the Disney Parks.
We also go to gymnastics twice a week. Each week she enjoys it more than the time before.
Kalena now loves to get her face painted!
She likes to pick out her clothes and dress herself, she's not big on the matching.

She is currently 36inches tall and 33 pounds

Time For Bed

So for about 8 days, Kalena was putting herself to bed around 7/7:30. Sometimes it was when we asked her, Do you want to go nite nite and she would run to her bed or other times we would find her in her bed (yes she climbed all the way in).

And then Sunday night at 6:15, which is very early for her she did what is in this video...and yes she stayed in bed..

But, last night she was back to not wanting to go to bed.. lets home the cute girl that puts herself to bed comes back soon..

2.5 year update

Kalena is starting to talk more!!!!!

She now says "Cheese" when you are taking her photo..
She has added -my to now say MOMMY.. I'm no longer just Ma :)
She wakes saying Mommy, daddy and some time meows to.. maybe she is hoping Scooter will get her out of her bed..
She also says "Be Right Back" sometimes its even "I'll be right back"
At school and sometimes at home.. when she has a smelly diaper.. she says, "I Stink"
Her teachers are very impressed with her use of "I", they said most toddlers do know to refer to themselves as "I"
And she still loves words like: mine, more, kitkat, bell (for tinker bell) & she loves to meow and bark and she's working on mooing

Kalena still loves water.. her swimming is up and down. Some days she wants to swim swim swim and other days she only wants to be pushed and carried around.

Aug. 1st we took her to Aquatica for the first time and she had an amazing time. We will be going there alot until it gets to cold. Since we leave in Florida that could be a while.

Summer Time

Tampa Zoo

Grandma Juanita took us to the Tampa Zoo on Friday June 25th. Kalena had a blast hanging out with her cousin Athena. They rode a camel together!! Athena said that KJ giggled the entire time. Kalena also got to feed the Giraffe's, she could not get enough crackers!!! Shae also enjoyed watching the monkey and playing in the splash park.

Monkey Joe's

The Saturday before Father' Day we took Kalena to Monkey Joe's. This was Daddy Todd's first visit there.. I wasn't sure what he would think about it, but he surprised me and loved it there!! He loved the "work out" of following Kalena into all the blow up slides... Enjoy this short video of how much fun Todd had....

Swim Lesson Update

After 4 lessons Kalena hated the pool. Anytime you asked her if she wanted to go to a pool she would say, NoOo!!!
So we I thought maybe its best to hold off a lessons.
And then we went to St. Pete to spend time with Grandma Juanita and Grnadpa Shockey. On Thursday she wanted to go in her boat in the pool, which was better than a flat out NoOo..
Friday the magic happened, she wanted to swim!!!!!!!!!!!!
Now she can't get enough of the water.

Swim Lessons

Kalena started her swim lessons on Wednesday May 26th.. Her first lesson was difficult.. lots of screaming and crying.. Her second lesson was alittle better. I'm hoping in a couple more lessons I'll be telling you that she is kicking, doing ice cream scoops and most important swimming:)

Beach time

Beach time is here!

Kalena and I went to the Anna Maria Island with the Greene's and Kristen. All the kids had a great time at the beach and pool.. By Friday KJ had no naps and was quite sleeping and after her "break down" she passed out in the sand.. it was a sight to see..

This past weekend we went to the condo in Port Orange, the Greene's and Sabrina joined us on Saturday and Marli asked, "Is Kalena going to nap in the sand again?"
To Funny.. the things kids remember..

Kalena loved playing in the sand and ocean.. We are going to have a summer of fun!!

Some new Kalena things

Kalena loves to grab our hands and lead the way.. and its always a surprise where we are going.. Mostly to the swings out back, or to get a snack, or event to watch tv. Usually we know she wants to wants to tv because she'll bring us the remote.

Kalena is also "playing" ball now. We all sit on the floor and push or kick the ball back and forth.

She also all about coloring or finding markers and marking on herself..

We are semi-potty training, her new daycare says she has gone on the potty a few times, she has gone once at home so far. She has switched to pull ups (i think she just likes the princess's on them) and she quite doesn't understand the pull up/down process, but she has the take off process down.

Easter Weekend

To jump start the Easter Weekend we had Kalena's friends over for a mini egg hunt and cupcakes. Marli, Colin, Lexi and Kalena had a blast bouncing in the bounce house, hunting for eggs, playing on the swing set, and most of all seeing each other.

On Easter we went to Grams (Faye's) to spend time with family. Kalena and her cousins got a big surprise while egg hunting.. they found mini chinese takeout boxes and when the opened them there was baby chickens inside. Everyone had fun wathcing the kitds pet the chickens. Gil wanted everyone to take their chicken home, Todd decide to make it look like we took our chicken, but really we took home an empty box.

Disney with Dad

Daddy Todd and Kalena went to Disney on Sunday April 11th. They had an amazing time! Todd took Kalena to get her first "official" hair cut.. yes, she has had her hair cut by mommy.. But this was her first barber visit. Her stylist gave her sticker after sticker and was able to give her a cute cut! Kalena also got to meet her favorite characters, the fairies. She meet Tinkerbell, Tarence, and Fawn. She was shy of course but later when we showed her the pictures she light up with joy. Daddy Todd and Kalena also rode rides, ate lunch, and enjoyed their time together.

Kalena has become a Tinker Bell fan.. She loves to wear Tinker Bell pj's all the time. Her gram got her some regular Tinker Bell clothes to wear she loves them. It is quite amazing to watch a 2year sit and watch the entire Tinker Bell movie.
She also likes Yo Gabba Gabba and is starting to like other shows/movies.

She loves pushing dolls and "monkey" in her stroller and feeding them food. She also loves to help mom in the kitchen from her kitchen tower. She loves to climb in freg pick out her snack and then eat it from her tower. She loves yogurt (or atleast the fact that is can open it and eat it all by herself.)

and she still loves Avocado

Kalena is also into climbing and swinging in the big kid swings.

She has become more independent, she likes to help pick out her clothes and bows and diapers.. sometimes it fun and sometimes its a hassle.

Kalena had awesome 2nd birthday!!
We began her birth month by setting up her very own swing set. She loves sliding monkey down the slide and she loves to be pushed in the swing. She also loves to sit in the tower and make funny faces through the window.
On kalena's birthday we took her to lake eola to enjoy her birthday cupcke. This year her grandma Juanita got to join us at the park. Todd and kalena had a blast feeding the black swans.
The Saturday after her birthday she invited her family and friends over for some Yo Gabba Gabba birthday fun. They enjoyed coloring foofa, eating gabba cake and most of all the visit from DJ Todd Rock (kinda like DJ Lance Rock).

Amelia Island

Jan 2nd and 3rd -2010-

Kalena, Todd, and I got to invite Aunt Danyen and Uncle Donny to The Ritz on Amelia Island. (thanks to todd's amazing employee discount)
It was one of the coldest weekends in Florida this year. Oh wait maybe because its the 2nd day of the year.. but it really was the coldest day of winter so far this season... With a high of 50 and a low 26 - thats cold for us Florida people.

We had fun relaxing in the room, playing on the playground, eating seafood, and most of all spending time with family.
