Update - Kalena & Kenzy 01/01/12

Kalena is growing up fast. Her personality of an independent, comic, sales person is developing. She makes jokes and says "daddy, we're funny". She also is a hard negotiator. Everything is negotiable. Bedtime starts with 1 or 2 books but ends with about 5. Then she talks us into going to the potty, brushing teeth again, or tells us she's hungry or thirsty. The goal each night is to delay sleep time as long as possible and she's getting quite good at it.

Sometimes she'll randomly say "I love you" or "I like your shirt" other times it's "I don't like you" or "you're not my friend". That's usually right after a "no" on something like an extra Popsicle. I think it's all part of her manipulation plan. Break us down and build us up all to get us to feed from her wants and desires. She is in control and keeps working to keep that control.

And pity the poor boys like Colin, who she manipulates with ease. She will be a heart-breaker for sure.

A week ago, I asked her "How many times do I have to tell you to wake us up if you go poopie in your pull up" and she answered calmly with "2". Cracked me up.

And this morning she called me into her room like normal, but she had something to show me in the potty. 1st successful nighttime deposit. Definitely worth the not-flushing to get full credit and candy reward. And no we did not take a picture. Just saved it for mom to see.

Last night was New Years 2011-2012. We celebrated with the Greene's, Greenwich (Prime Meridian) 7pm. We cheered in the new year and then came home. We almost had the girls down when a fireworks show started at 9pm. Kalena and I watched from the back door. She probably coordinated the timing to stay up a little longer.

A New Hope...
Kenzy is our only hope to keep Kalena from controlling the world. As she grows, sharing will not be optional and negotiable. Not everything will revolve around Kalena. She will have to relinquish some of her control over the parents. I presume they will team up and take over everyone in their path.

“Remember, a Jedi's strength flows from the Force. But beware. Anger, fear, aggression. The dark side are they. Once you start down the dark path, forever will it dominate your destiny." -Yoda

Kenzy now has random smiles that light up the room. A few coo's. And types 100 wpm... ok maybe not yet. She is a drooler, but awfully cute at it.

New Years

Kenzy is bringing in the New Year with a bang!
She had avocado today for the first time and loves it. She's been eating "solid" food for about a week now.
She's been rolling over a little bit here and there, but today she rolled over and kept her head up! No crying! and she kicked her feet some.. first stages of crawling underway..
Kenzy also brought in the New Year taking a bath in her sit up chair.
Big Day for our littlest girl!

The Holiday Season

We had a great Holiday Season.
Kalena got to spend time with Marli and Colin, her cousin Hayley and Austin, her cousin Fabiana and her newest friends from school.
Kalena is such a giver! She wanted to give everyone presents and hugs this year.
On Christmas Eve Kalena ran around with all the big kids and did crafts with them. Kenzy had her own entourage of girls around her. At one time she even had a circle of six different girls from age 6-11 passing her around and feeding her.
Kalena and Fabiana are becoming great friends! As Kalena says, "I want to play with my friend Fabi more."
Kalena and Marli both got make-up sets this year. They are so cute and girly doing each others make-up.
