2014

Kalena (6yrs) can read some small books now like "Pete The Cat My Groovy Buttons", and this blog. She's very motivated by money, she earns $5 if she and her sister get to 10pts (a team building exercise that seems to be working). We give them points for being nice to each other, tiger tickets, being good, etc. She can spend it at the Dollar Tree or save it and she chooses to save it. She's already saved about $100 and grandma Cheryl gave her another $50 for xmas. She started running club, does good in school, roller skates a little, she's a good swimmer, loves Shaghettios, green beans, and avocados. She likes playing Monopoly and Uno. Her favorite shows are Sponge Bob, Garfield, and Shaun the Sheep. Favorite movies are: Despicable Me, Cloudy w/ Meatballs, How to Train Your Dragon, Box Trolls, Milo and Otis still. She loathes brushing her hair. Her friend Teigan moved to WA. Other friends now are Hailey, Izzy, Zeani, and Carly... and of course Marli and Colin. She loves trying to get Dad to eat anything grape. Sometimes I use it to coax her into skating another lap, which she does with a huge grin. She's a little bit of a prankster, just like her daddy ;)

Kenzy (3yrs) is out of now out of pullups... YAY!!! Even all night! She can spell her name, knows all her ABC's, sings "It's all About the Base", "Let it Go", "Daddy Finger". Although she clams up around other people. She's thoughtful, smart, funny, and sweet. She says "thank you" and "i love you" to us all the time. She loves story time: 3 Little Pigs, Red Riding Hood, Ariel, Spooky Story, and LOVES, LOVES, LOOOOVEEEESSS to watch playdoh on youtube. She's starting to make friends at school: Autumn, Poetry, Zarra. She eats about anything. We have fun with bed time stories, and Kenzy like to participate. Here are a couple examples:

Spooky Story (we made it up and Kenzy says the "Woooooooohhh" and "I'm not Food" parts.) Once upon a time as daddy was reading stories to Kenzy, Kenzy heard a noise. "Woooooooooohhhhhhh". What was that, I asked? A ghost, she answered. There's no such thing as ghosts, I said. Then we heard it again. "Wooooooooooohhhhh". What was that, she asked? A ghost, I said? Then it started to eat Kenzy's toes and she said, "I'm not food"! Then it started eating daddy's toes, and I said, "I'm not food"! Then he tried to eat mommy's toes and she said, "I'm not food"! And then he tried to eat Kalena's toes and she said, "I'm not food, go eat some broccoli and green beans". The ghost ate the broccoli and green beans and said "this is MUCH better than toes... I don't ever want to eat toes again"! Then he became our friend. The end.
3 Little Pigs
Once upon a time there were 3 little pigs and they lived in 3 little houses made of (I let Kenzy add to the story and she says something like: Ice Cream or babies, Play Doh, and Bricks). The wolf went to the first house and said this is an odd house.... little pig, little pig let me in. And he said, not by the hair on your chiny chin chin. The wolf said if you don't let me in, I'll huff and I'll puff and I'll blow (or eat if it's ice cream) your house down. That pig ran to the next house. The wolf said, little pig, little pig let me in. And the pigs said, not by the hair on your chiny chin chin. The wolf said if you don't let me in, I'll stick your house through an extruder. And that's just what he did. Thhhbbbbbb (good sound effect). Those little pigs ran to the last house. And the wolf said, little pig, little pig let me in. They said not by the hair on your chiny chin chin. So the wolf huffed and he puffed and blewwwww(Kenzy says Nothing Happened), so he huffed and he puffed and he bleewwwwwwww (Kenzy says Nothing Happened), then he did it again fheewwwwwwww (Kenzy says Nothing Happened). So the wolf climbed up and went down the chimney. But the pigs had lit a fire and that wolf burned his bottom and shot out of the chimney crying arrr arrr arrr arrr down the road. The End.

Red Ridding Hood
Once upon a time, there was a little girl named little Red Ridding Hood. She baked some cookies for Gram. She made some chocolate chip cookies, some snicker doodle cookies, some oatmeal cookies, some fudge stripped cookies, some sugar cookies, some raisin cookies, some lizard cookies (nooooo daddy), some chocolate cookies, some peanut butter cookies (I always save peanut butter as the last as they are Kenzy's favorite and she smiles unh hunh). So on her way to Gram's house, the wolf stopped her and asked if he could have a cookie and little Red Riding Hood said Nope. The wolf grunted and ran off ahead of her and got to Gram's house first. He threw Gram in the closet and put on her gown and jumped in her bed. (knock knock knock) Little Red Ridding Hood knocked on the door and the wolf said "Come in sweetie". So Little Red Ridding Hood came in and put the cookie basket on the bed and said wow gram what big (and I point to Kenzy's eyes "eyes you have, the better to see you with" she says) and what big (I point to Kenzy's ears "ears you have, the better to hear you with" she says) and what big (I point to Kenzy's nose "nose you have, to smell you with" she says) and what great big sharp (I point to Kenzy's teeth "TEETH you have, to eat your cookies with" she says excitedly) And the Gram busts out and kicks that wolf out of the house. The End.

Ariel
Once upon a time, there was a little mermaid named Ariel and her best friend Kenzy. One day while they were swimming around, they saw a big ship on the surface. They swam up to check it out and saw a handsome prince named (Kenzy says Eric) and his dog (Kenzy says Max). But then there was a big storm and Eric feel overboard and started to drown. So Ariel and Kenzy grabbed him and brought him to the surface and then took him to a beach. Then they kissed him (Kenzy covers up her face as I kiss her on her cheek, forehead and other cheek) here, here, and here. And then he woke up and said wow thank you for saving me and for the kisses and then he kissed them back (and I kiss Kenzy again as she giggles and tries to block me) here, here and here. Then they become good friends. The End.
